Search for the perfect black bag

One of my 2012 resolutions is to build a classic wardrobe. I'm inspired by Dead Fleurette to buy high quality, classic pieces I'll have forever instead of just purchasing things I like in the spur of the shopping moment. Thus, I've been searching for the perfect black leather bag. Somehow in my years of shopping I've failed to acquire this stable. Without further ado, here are a few of my favorites:

Kate Spade Maryanne Bag, $445

I saw an uber-stylish girl on the subway with this bag and have been majorly coveting it since. Definitely more expensive than I had hoped though,

Rebecca Minkoff Swing Bag, $330

This bag is too small for hauling around my laptop and books but the chain strap and simple design are super appealing.

Zara City Bag, $169
I visited this bag in Zara earlier today and it's huge in real life. The leather is nice though and its giant size might actually be an advantage.

Easter Brunch

My first blog post!

I'm attempting to organize a little brunch gathering for Easter Sunday. I'd love it to involve lots of sacreligious champagne-based cocktails, colorful chocolate, and possibly a booze-soaked egg hunt in a local park. I love the idea of a blue and yellow tabletop theme, inspired by mismatched Blue Willow plates and daffodils.

Menu:

Bellini Mimosas

Asparagus, leek, gruyere quiche

Lemon poppyseed muffins

Fruit salad with pineapple, raspberries, melon, etc.

Lots and lots of coffee!
